Chip Newell and Susan Morris
Chip and Susan returned to Maine fourteen years ago after decades of living all over the US and Canada. Chip first experienced Maine as a student at Bowdoin College and Susan travelled through Maine on her way to her family cottage in Prince Edward Island from Montreal while growing up.
Susan was in the hospitality and lodging business for over 25 years, including 13 years with Marriott Hotels. She is a bit of a cleanliness nut. Chip has always been in the real estate business, developing hotels, resorts, residences and condos in places as diverse as Washington, DC, Denver, western North Carolina, South Beach Miami, Puerto Rico and Maine.
Chip and Susan live in Maine on a year-round basis, splitting time between Portland and Boothbay Harbor. They live far enough away from Sunny Woods House to ensure your privacy and close enough to be helpful if a need arises.
Favorite activities include swimming (yes, you can enjoy warm lake swimming in West Harbor Pond), hiking, kayaking, float plane flying, and exploring towns such as Wiscasset, Bath, Damariscotta and Brunswick to discover art galleries, farmers markets, museums and shops. You will find Chip and “Sue-Chef” cooking up the local foods of Maine, especially lobster, mussels, oysters, fish and fresh produce.
Involved with the Boothbay Region Land Trust, the Opera House, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and the YMCA, Susan and Chip are very enthusiastic about the quality of life in the mid-coast region, They are happy to share their thoughts on how to best enjoy a vacation in mid-coast Maine. Consumer warning: you too may catch the spirit of how “life should be” and move to Maine!
